After graduating from Carleton College with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology, Beret Olsen joined Teach for America and continued to teach and administrate in urban public elementary schools for over a decade. For her first mid-life crisis, she went on leave to study photography at California College of the Arts. Currently photo editor for 100 word story, she is raising two daughters, writing two blogs, writing grants, and photographing whenever possible.
